Two versions of Xmas

Five wonderful things this xmas?

  1. My extended family singing carols round the piano on Christmas Eve
  2. The excited specualtion over whether Kate M is pregnant.
  3. The happy giving and receiving of gifts
  4. The delicious lunch, eaten fashionably late
  5. That sense of togertherness and warmth ...

or this:

  1. The relief when Downton Isis was found safe and well.
  2. Amusement at how my cats absolutely adore a sliver or two of smoked salmon
  3. Going to the dog field and having it all to myself and my dogs
  4. That I managed yet another hideous xmas experience as an only child sans partner, intact. (This year Dad tried to kiss me on the lips and smack my bottom, while food and spittle dribbled down his chin. He is old and losing the plot.)
  5. The lack of traffic and welcome quietness outside.

I think it sounds terrific all round, barring your dad's plot-loss. Did that upset you, and are you able to let it go?

It sounds terrific?
Farking bloody norah.

Compared to the debacle at Chez LineRunner, it sounds positively angelic.
