How long did it both take you to say those three words?

To plan your life together?

To live together? To get married?

With my STBXH I was his housemate so we already lived together, he said ILY about a week in, I said it back. Proposed after three weeks, found out I was pregnant after 7 weeks. Married after 5 months. Divorcing next year after 8 years and 3 more dc.

Lemonylemon · 22/12/2011 13:58

Ahem, contacted him on a dating website at the beginning of July 2006; met up at the end of July; engaged middle of the September; pregnant end of February 2007; fantastic first anniversary date doing the things we did on our first date, he collapsed two days later and died at week later at the beginning of August; I had our daughter at the end of October.

CupOfGoodCheer · 22/12/2011 14:59

We're super fast movers!

Met online May
Met real life June
Said the 3 words July iirc
Engaged October
TTC October
Moving in next July (job means can't be before then unless pg happens - complicated)
Wedding date set next July

Do what feels right for the two of you... Smile

Pantofino · 22/12/2011 15:08

Mmmm

Met at 19
Snogged at 23
Shagged at 24
Shagged AGAIN at 32
Dd born at 35
Married at 36

The VERY slow start was mainly due one of his first comments to me being "Lose some weight off your arse and I'll take you out" Shock My response should not take too much imagining Grin.

I even married someone else in the middle of all this.....

If you told me aged 19 that I would marry and have a child with this man I would have died laughing....

I love him to pieces though - and I got the last laugh as my arse has only ever got larger....Wink

Thingumy · 22/12/2011 21:14

Met in August,spent a night together.Grin

Emailed a week later (he was living abroad) met up 3 weeks later for a very long weekend. Then spent 6 weeks seeing each other when we could,he would drive from Germany for weekends and anytime he could.

He went off to work abroad for 6 months (forces) so it was infrequent calls and daily letters.

Came back at Christmas and we were engaged in the January.

11th anniversary next year.

NotTheBlinkingGruffaloAgain · 22/12/2011 21:21

Friends for a year, close friends for a month, 'One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest' at his flat.. never left! we now have a house together 2 years after that "movie night" Enjoy when you know you just know and it's so relaxing!

NinkyNonker · 22/12/2011 21:40

Vaguely knew each other through friends, to nod at.

Went to a house party in the Oct 07, got it on drunkenly. Just knew.

Love declared in about the March 08.

Moved in in June 08.

Engaged in the Oct 08, on our 1 yr anniversary.

Married in the April 09 6 months later.

Pregnant by Nov 09, dd here in Aug 10, so we had been together 2.5 yrs or so by then.

MrsOzz · 22/12/2011 23:22

Met at university. He was a 3rd year showing me (a fresher/1st year) round, went on a date for my birthday later that week.

He said 'I love you' after 6 weeks.

Moved in together two years later for my final year. Bought out house the following year (together for 3 years, living together for one).

Engaged after 4 years,

Married a year later (5 years together)

Dd number 1 arrived on our second wedding anniversary (after 7 years together).

I guess it's slow for some, but we were only 18 and 21 when we met 7 and half years ago. I dare say if we had been ten years older (and richer?) things may have moved faster!
