grrrr on your behalf

edam · 09/01/2006 20:23

Um, maintenance isn't about 'subsidising' FFS, it's about paying your children what you owe them to keep a roof over their heads, clothes on their backs and food in their tummies.

He IS a tosser. Can you get CSA/solicitor to sort him out?

tissy · 09/01/2006 20:23

sorry, but do you mean that your rent has reduced, so he's decided to cut maintenance, or that he has unilaterally decided not to pay maintenace for your rent?

Was your maintenance set by court order?

he was paying maintenance voluntarily of £300 a month, before xmas he was very verbally abusive to me over ds 14months head so i told him to leave and go back to solicitors as didnt want him in my home (hed only been having access for 7weeks!). that was 12th december, havent heard off solicitors or heard off him (no apology) and when money went in bank today it was £100!i emailed him and his reply was about the rent. hes a twat, i had already told him that maintenance isnt for buying toys and goodies for ds it was for keeping a roof over head, food etc. hes a stuck up, pompous, spoilt teacher whos got his head up is arse! oooo i feel better for that

sounds like you need a court order!

7777777 · 09/01/2006 20:41

im reapplying for legal aid tomoro, gona beg the bank for an overdraught tomoro to cover the rent for now. before xmas i would have been in tears and in a right state by now but my new years resolution was to be tougher and not let him get to me, lets hope i stay in that frame of mind

another moan!!!HIS mother has just called for a visit she stayed all of 45 mins and when i mentioned that her son had reduced the maintenance by 200 she glossed over it and changed the subject. the bitch. feel like not asking her to visit again now, not that she comes very often anyway and is so all over my ds that he ends up smothered in lippy and stinking of perfume!ughhh!

normsnockers your reply made me laugh, hilarious!i wouldnt wana go to her house as dont have anything to do with fil because of his part in making us homeless, very caniving (sp?) family. annie i can see your point about the grandma, she drives me mad tho and luckily doesnt come very often. im sure the courts wouldnt look on me badly, lets face it the gps have no rights, its all down to the our kindness isnt it and id only met the woman once when i had my short relationship with ex so i really dont know her at all and dont have a strong bond with her. i dont trust any of them because of the threat of getting custody of my ds. my probs are nothing compared to yours and others, i just like to have a moan, thankyou.i have got an apt with income support next mon as i work under 16 hours so might be entitled and i phoned csa today who said it takes 4to 6 weeks to write to him!

Have you applied for housing benefit and council tax benefit? Worth a try if your income has reduced.

spursmum · 10/01/2006 16:53

Word of advice on CSA...it's taken them over 3 years to find my ds' father even though I gave them his parents address and his NI number.
As for income support, you are entitled to any extra that bring your personal income up to £55 a week, then there is Child benefit and Tax credits which provide money for your ds. You would also be entitled to Housing benefit and Coucil tax benefit.
Inform your landlord/council/housing association/whoever you pay rent to that you are applying for IS as they will not chase you for back rent, it will be backdated to the date of your claim. HTH

he was paying 15%of his wage but has taken it upon himself to reduce it by a third to £100. im presuming its because of the hassle before xmas when it was decided he would have to have access at a contact centre but ive heard nothing from his solicitors since. as for housing benefit, because i only work part time i was getting some help and theyre recalculating to help more. im hoping that with more rent money and IS that it will make up for the shortfall of £200 or am i hoping to much!!!annie i cant speak to him bout money as there is no contact between us wotsoever only his email last night about not subsidising my rent anymore.....tosser!!
