To think DH should wear a wedding ring?

karmathreefold · 11/12/2011 16:58

The thread about the unmarried couple wearing wedding rings reminded me that DH has stopped wearing his.

He did wear one for the 15 years he was married to his ex, and he wore the one I bought until the beginning of this year (acutally I bought both), but then said it didn't fit him anymore, so I got it sized up for him, then he said it was still too small, had it sized up again, and still says it's too small.

if he just wasn't into jewellery I'd be OK about it, but he was so into wearing one in his first marriage, and in the beginning of this, that I find it hard to accept his reluctance - heck he even wore it on the photos he took of his 'privates', which he says he took to send me when I was pregnant with dd1 Hmm

A ring won't stop him being unfaithful you know. Dh wore one for the first few years of us being married but doesn't now, he doesn't wear any other jewellery apart from a watch and it gets in the way when he works in the garden.

Imagine if he insisted you wore something even though it was uncomfy.

LotteryWinnersOnAcid · 11/12/2011 17:02

Do you think he didn't actually take the pics of his cock to send to you then? Is that what this thread is really about? Seems bizarre that he would wear his wedding ring for such an occasion but not day-to-day! Grin

Pandemoniaa · 11/12/2011 17:03

I'm more bothered by his need to take a picture of his cock. Is he fearful of not recognising it again unless he keeps a digital reminder? Still, I suppose, as ring shots go, things could be worse.

troisgarcons · 11/12/2011 17:04

LMAO - adds a whole new dimension to cock ring Grin

moondog · 11/12/2011 17:06

Dear God.
I have come over all faint.

troisgarcons · 11/12/2011 17:08

I have come over all faint.

Unlike the OPs husband who probably came all over his ring Grin

valiumredhead · 11/12/2011 17:09

Ha ha ha ha ha ha! Grin

Now I feel nauseous.

karmathreefold · 11/12/2011 17:21

Lottery no I don't think he took the photos to send to me, I was in hospital having DD1 when he took them, I found out abou them 7 months later when I had to use our camera and found all 20 of them. He was wearing his ring then, he stopped soon after.

OP posts:
valiumredhead · 11/12/2011 17:27

Eeek! Sounds like this is about much more than wedding rings!

troisgarcons · 11/12/2011 17:28

Was it pointy-uppy or a Mull of Kintyre shot?

karmathreefold · 11/12/2011 17:29

I think the photos are the main thing here. They were very explicit, some of them he was standing to attention.

Shortly after he took them he went on holiday alone (when DD1 was 4 months old) and some of the photos he took there had two coffee cups on the table in his apartment, he swears this is because the cups were too small for him.

I was going to stay with him after I got pregnant with DD2, and after she died, and for a short time after her funeral, we were close, very close.

Six weeks now since her birth/death, and I feel alone again, and those photos keep occupying my mind... I guess if I had a newborn to look after I'd be too busy to be paranoid, I miss my baby

Maybe I'm weird but to be honest, the very last image I'd want burnt onto my psyche after giving birth would be a cock. Even one that I was well acquainted with. In fact, probably especially the one that had got me into the labour ward in the first place.

valiumredhead · 11/12/2011 17:30

Oh God love, you poor thing Sad xxx

troisgarcons · 11/12/2011 17:31

I'm sorry for your loss, OP , this is where I gracefully bow out of the thread and leave you to those with some sensible advice

Pandemoniaa · 11/12/2011 17:31

Oh heck, I'm so sorry for my flippancy. I cross posted there and had no idea that you'd recently suffered such a sad loss. Many apologies.

YonderRevoltingPeasantWhoIsHe · 11/12/2011 17:31

Wait- I haven't even started reading the thread but - your husband took pictures of his cock and you're worried about his jewellery? As it were?

I am sure everyone has already made all the jokes that are currently occurring to me.

karmathreefold · 11/12/2011 17:32

When we went to the cemetery, less than a week after DD 2 was buried, there was a high school girl, in a teeny weeny mini skirt, and he looked at her and said "bloody hell, girls didn't look like that when I went to school", she was all of 14. What hope does a 41yr old woman, who can't even bear him two living children have?

OP posts:
karmathreefold · 11/12/2011 17:34

Pandemoniaa don't worry about it, what you said is quite true, and I can do with a bit light-heartedness tbh. Same for you troisgarcons xx

YonderRevoltingPeasantWhoIsHe · 11/12/2011 17:34

Oh God Blush Blush

That will teach me not to read threads.

Okay OP I think maybe you are just in a really difficult place and need someone to be close to, but I wonder if this man isn't it Sad

I'm so sorry, on both counts.

ImperialBlether · 11/12/2011 17:35

What an awful time you've had. I'm so sorry.

I'm afraid to say I wouldn't believe any of it. I don't believe any man would take a photo of his genitals to send to a woman in labour. If he did, he certainly wouldn't forget to send them.

I do think you have big problems here. He clearly won't be honest with you, not least because he will know that only a pig would tell a woman in your position that he's up to something.

Do you love him? Are you otherwise happy with him? Has he always been a bit dodgy?

YonderRevoltingPeasantWhoIsHe · 11/12/2011 17:35

can't even bear him two living children

Karma please don't say that. Has he made you feel inadequate about your tragedy? You poor thing.

SnapesMistressofMerriment · 11/12/2011 17:36

:(

ImperialBlether · 11/12/2011 17:37

Are you getting some help from friends and family, OP?
