OK, I have a male friend, he's not my boyfriend but we sometimes, but not always have an IE when he invites me over. Oh I have met him during the day for coffee only and I have been known to ring him, not often. I don't know what you would call it.

Snapespeare · 11/01/2012 12:22

he's a fw(occasional) benefits. :) we don't have to categorise! as long as everyone is happy and things are going OK, then all is fine! :) I think it's nice that you can have coffee etc - he's not just poon-hounding your lady garden Hmm he likes your company as well as the occasional bit of the other. :)

we do tend to over-think everything don't we? I'm the worst in the world at this!

adamschic · 11/01/2012 12:27

It's ok when they are tucked up in bed early. Very different with teens though, especially when they refuse to sleepover at grannies and friends anymore. Mine rarely goes out.

watchoutforthatsnail · 11/01/2012 13:05

adams- seeing as shes old enough to be left on her own for a little bit, could you not pop out on an evening? occassionally?

your fwb set up sounds ok, its just it seemed abit like he just called you and you went, a bit one sided. if its not like that, then thats fine.

lubeybooby · 11/01/2012 13:30

Adams - so right about the age where they refuse to go grannies! and if you insist then they want to know what you're up to! My DD is 15 and since she was 14 I've gone out for dinner for a few hours without her, and since hitting 15 have left her overnight twice.

I figured I lived on my own with an entire tiny human to care for from when I was 16, and I babysat my little brother for long periods of time from 14, so decided she was capable of it. Plus she is a sensible and trustworthy girl and my mum lives in the same town in case of any emergencies, and I wasn't all that far away either.

It's the only way I've managed to have a bit of time to myself this last year or so - although luckily she does go to her dads still for a few days here and there in school hols so I do have those times too.

adamschic · 11/01/2012 13:44

Lubey, I go out overnight now, since she was 15/16 (once got stranded when she was 14 and you can tell it's too young). I've been away all weekend since she was 16.

I work full-time (works quiet atm hence posting) and am too tired to go out in the week much, weekends we usually do something as an extended family or I'm doing nothing hence being available. It's a good arrangement men are fairly low down on my priority list.

watchoutforthatsnail · 11/01/2012 14:13

adams- i think time is an issue for a lot of us. which is why a fwb is a better thing all round. I dont have time at all really, not much anyway, and i cant go out in the evenings at all, i get 2 days out of 14 and thats it. So i have to cram everything in that time. Doesnt leave much time for any kind of relationship really.....

TimeForSomeAction · 11/01/2012 14:14

Hi everyone Smile I'm pleased to see you are all having fun! Grin

Snape you can set your profile so that no one knows when you have viewed theirs, that's what I've done so I'm free to browse without question. Also, I've now set mine so that I only receive messages with a photo, I can't be doing with no mug shot, I need to see what I'm talking to and I'm a bit tired of the "it's because of my job" excuse. It may be a valid reason but don't see why they can't attach one privately if that's the case. I don't want to end up meeting Quasimodo no matter how great his cock is!

I've had a few snotty messages from blokes I've not replied to, I've enjoyed sending a snotty message back (and not always polite for a lady like me Grin) before blocking them. Also, watch out for the one's who write with "you have added me as a favourite so....." or "I see you have viewed my profile so..." err, no I haven't tosser and you know full well I haven't, you are just trying it on, now do one!!

watch I'm chatting to 2 now. The intelligent one who had me smiling while I was typing, the one who I thought I probably would meet, well, he has truned out to be a right boring bastard person who still sends interesting emails but boy are they deep and heavy going. He seems to be challenging my own intelligence now and I'm getting fed up. He wants to meet, he thinks the discussions we are having would be best had in bed just before we fall asleep Hmm I would be asleep long before the discussion ended, boredom does that to me. The other one lives two hours away but thinks I would be worth the petrol Grin Trouble is, I'm not just after a one trip pony so i want to make sure that whoever makes the effort in that first instance is going to be happy making the effort, not just back off once he has had a shag iyswim? Two hours is too far away imo for a regular FWB, especially as I don't have transport.

Anyway, I'm still having fun, still enjoying it and still doing the research. I'm loving the research Grin

PoppaRob · 11/01/2012 14:15

Hi all. Sounds like the IE situation is going well, and if nothing else it's giving everyone something to focus on and look forward to. From a guy's perspective the only downside is if you send a message to someone who is looking for an IE on PoF it stops you contacting people with other "seeking" criteria. Of the several hundred women between 47 and 57 within 100Km of me there there are a total of 5 looking for and IE.

"Zany", I'm good, thanks for asking.

TimeForSomeAction · 11/01/2012 14:16

I agree watch, I'm in the same situation as you. DD is awake until 9pm, sometimes later! Hmm so there is no way I would have anyone at my house. So it's two evenings a fortnight that I have free, so any FWB is going to have to understand that too.

Snapespeare · 11/01/2012 14:17

i think i have a date! with another very tall dirty blonde doctor who substitute.

geronimo

TimeForSomeAction · 11/01/2012 14:26

Wooooo Hooooo Snape Grin Brilliant!!

Snapespeare · 11/01/2012 14:34

he saidhe'd let me play with his sonic screwdriver. Thats a euphamism? right?

TimeForSomeAction · 11/01/2012 14:41

Grin I would say so. Well I hope so! I would be very disappointed if you got to the date and he had his tool box with him. And that's not a euphemism!

PoppaRob · 11/01/2012 15:40

He may just be an old school Dr Who fan, but then again it may be a bit like a Star Wars fan offering to show you his lightsaber! :)

Snapespeare · 11/01/2012 15:57

We're playing Doctors and Rivers. He just got back from our first date, I looked lovely, but what I did with the ice cream made Einstein blush. [/geek]

I am now flirting with everyone I've had an incredibly productive day at work by phoning people and making them tell me stuff. I am walking with an element of swagger. poffing will make me insufferable! :) imagine how much worse I would be if I actually had sex! Wink

TimeForSomeAction · 11/01/2012 16:03

I've got a message from a young girl in short skirt and suspenders telling me I'm sexy and asking if I've ever tried a woman "hun" Shock Grin And for the 'hun' she was blocked!

watchoutforthatsnail · 11/01/2012 16:31

haha, i also delete all huns, hunnis and babes. yuk.

snape - miss swagga over there :) im really pleased for you. go forth and shag. buy small pants. :)

TimeForSomeAction · 11/01/2012 16:54

marthakeane in the Newark area, don't know if that is any good to you Grin

TimeForSomeAction · 11/01/2012 17:29

Crikey, quite a few messages coming in now along the lines of 'I sent you a message but you haven't replied....' some asking if I can reply and let them know either way and one in particular telling me the least I could do was reply. Well, I hope they all like the reply they got before I hit block! Hmm And men have the nerve to accuse women of being needy!!
