When did you tell ex / DCs dad about new partner?

Am just curious, really. Nothing serious as of yet, playing cautious (though he's lovely, I could gush like a school girl with a crush!), so certainly nothing to tell yet. ExP and I get on well, able to spend days as a family.

DP told his ex about me before I met the kids. Just a casual reassurance that he'd only introduce someone he was serious about and that he and them were going to start seeing "Daddy's friend" occasionally.

It meant she knew what was happening when the kids started mentioning me. We also felt it best that they knew me as a friend and later as their dad's girlfriend so as to let them make their minds up about me. I think she appreciated that and then used the same method for introducing her boyfriend.

My DP did the same as WFM scenario. I was daddy's friend at first but he told her he'd met someone and would be introducing me to the kids when he knew it was serious.

I only wish she's done things similarly..... She is on boyfriend no.4 in 18 months!! She's not told DP about one of them and they've all been introduced to the kids within a matter of days/maybe a week. We either find out from the kids or from other sources....... Poor kids!!
