Young-mid 20's: how often do you have sex?

I'm curious really. DP and I have sex a couple of times a week and are wondering if we're a bit odd?!

Not young, more like mid 40's - have sex way more than I did in my 20's. Oh and I didnt have my first child until I was 30.

3/4 times a week usually definite on the two weekend nights. Im 27 though so little bit older.

Why wonder? If you're both happy with the quality and the quantity why should it matter what other people are doing?

Anyway, unless you're conducting a thorough survey and taking a note of all other relevant information (eg. hours worked, size of house, number and ages of children, hours spent commuting, number of pets, hobbies and sports, type of job, etc. etc. etc.) which can all have an affect on the frequency of sex, then the number of sexual couplings is meaningless.

26 yo and once or twice a week

More now at age 33 (about 5 times a week) than we ever did in our 20's.

Crikey I'm 23 and up until about 3 weeks ago we hadn't had sex in over 12 months - a mixture of DH being ill, me being fat and us both being lazy - But last month we both started to diet, we've both lost over 16 lb in just under a month and already feeling the benefits - So since then we've had sex every day! 3 times on Saturday! It was fab - I think it will go on to be twice a week but hopefully more

keynesian: curious really I've had a skewed view of sex for a while so I have no idea what's 'normal' for my age group iyswim? My last boyfriend, who I was with for 2.5 years, had erectile dysfunction and we never managed to have sex that lasted for more than two minutes (on the rare occasion we did try) so I got used to the idea of barely any sex. I'm amazed that I have sex twice weekly (and I love it!)

For what it's worth, we have no kids but live with a family who have a 2yr old and he is usually awake between 8am and 9/10pm and it makes us a little uncomfortable having sex and hearing him downstairs! And we go to bed shortly after him so it's not like we can really wait until he's asleep. We usually have sex whilst they're out.

forgot to add before, I'm glad to hear that libido seems to increase as you get a little older! I have always wondered when that supposed insatiable sex drive was supposed to kick in!

For women ime, a bigger sex drive kicks in as you get older........

I think it depends we have both had high sex drives since getting we were together from 18.

It does sound like in your situation it is because you are living with the family.

molly: That definitely has something to do with it, but I'm not kidding myself into thinking either of us have high sex drives! We both like our sleep too much!

Oh dear, I'm 27 (Hubby 28) and have only done it four times in the last 14 months! That did include being pregnant with crippling back ache but DS is nearly six months now and only done it twice since birth. Pre-pregnancy it was about once every six weeks. With previous partners though it was a lot more (like I'd want it every day) so I don't think this is particularly normal, we just don't have a very highly sexed relationship. I think 2-3 times a week is probably more typical.

every time the boyf stays over so probably...5 times a week, if not proper full on sex then theres always something instead. he works nights though so its always at stupid oclock in the morning when im at my sexiest of course
