Last night me and dh were celebrating the end of a good night and the start of the new year in bed ikwim .Anyway afterwards dh went to remove his glove only for it not to be there we searched the bed and then realised there was only one other place where it could be .After a few mins of me freaking out I eventually managed to relax enough to have a wriggle round and to pull out it out .Anyway enough of the gross details the thing is the contents had leaked inside me so now im panicking as todays new years day and everywheres closed. How long have i got for the morning after pill? Has this happened to anyway before? Dh did get then from a vending machine in a club so not sure if that makes a difference.

72 hours i believe

stitch · 01/01/2006 12:13

72 hours, but the earlier you take it, the more likely it is to work.
im sure there are some pharmacies open, somewhere. if you goto your local, there is bound to be a note up saying where and when the nearest open one is.
or call up your local a&e and ask if they give the morning after pill without a four hour wait.
but get it as soon as you can

noddyholder · 01/01/2006 12:15

this happened to me last year and I really panicked but got the morning after pill you have 72 hrs although its success rate goes down the longer you wait

mummytosteven · 01/01/2006 12:16

72 hours, but it's more effective the sooner you take it. I think that has happened to me once, with kite marked condoms from the family planning clinic. Or they can put a coil in up to 5 days after.

NotQuiteCockney · 01/01/2006 13:19

This normally happens because of the condom not being on right, or because he wasn't careful on removal (and/or didn't get out soon after the deed, iyswim).

How close are you to ovulation?

edodgy · 01/01/2006 14:35

have u got a Boots in a nearby retail park? Retail parks are open today.

hidingposter · 01/01/2006 14:55

This happened to me 6 months ago, but I decided it wouldn't be a disaster, as I was due on AF the very next day.

He is due in April.....

mum2sam · 01/01/2006 15:54

If you're generally regular (or have long cycles), you're probably ok. Best to get the emergency pill, to be sure.
