Not had a great year. Lost mum 7 months ago. Father died previously. Other siblings have also had issues this year and we have not pulled together as much as we should.
We have always spent Christmas Day with MIL as dh has a small family. Last year we hosted for my family and MIL. This year MIL/SIL is hosting but Xmas lunch will be at a hotel.
Will be seeing some of my family on Boxing Day but so sad we can't all be together.
I will make an effort to see everyone over Xmas period but just so sad. Also having to fit in visiting mum and dad's grave.
Sorry disjointed.

I'm so sorry you lost your mum and your dad, too.

Would you be happier hosting Christmas at home and inviting your siblings as well as your MIL and SIL?

I'm so sorry for your loss, Brighton. No wonder you're not looking forward to Christmas.

No advice, but ((hugs))
