thrush?

quick question..

a couple of weeks ago my DP noticed his willy was a bit itchy/stingy and the very end of his foreskin was red. he didn't mention it for a few days and then brought it up again, saying while in the shower a scab had come off leaving it red and stingy again.

he put a bit of canastan (sp?) cream on it as I thought maybe it could be thrush. I think he only applied it once. so, he said it cleared up and we had sex again. now it appears to have come back again. I don't have have any symptoms at all.

so, does any one have any experience of male thrush? he's going to the docs tmrw and I've suddenly got really scared that it might turn out to be something else like an STD (I am not a very trusting person at the best of times).

You can pass thrush back and forward to each other, for sure. One of you may have got it, and it not clear with one application of canesten. And if you already had it without knowing, he could have recaught it from you if you had sex.

I didn't think thrush scabbed over? Herpes maybe?

he has shown it to me a couple of times and tbh there isn't really that much to see. a bit of redness on the foreskin tip. I got the impression the scab was more from where the skin had broken, perhaps through scratching (yuk). there's no sign of an ulcer or anything?

Get him to a doctor, they'll soon tell him what it is and sort it out.
