how long does it take to move on... when does the pain stop

not much point to this really but i love my man lot and we have tried and tried and tried and evn though we share a childthe commitment is not there on hios part. I cannot go on and on this way.. it hurts it really does but then i have to move on be brave and start a new life for me and my son....

So sorry you are going through this. Relationships have to be 2-way for them to work, it sounds like it's been one-way for a while. It's tiring and draining when that happens. Does he know how you feel, does he know that you are really considering moving on? would he be prepared to try marriage counselling?

It takes a while to get over a relationship, you have to go through the grieving process. It's the end of an era, a time in your life that you either loved or hated.

Initially it will hurt bad, and you will cry at anything, as the weeks pass you will find yourself crying less and thinking of him less, until around 6/8 weeks you will stop crying and stop thinking about him so much and when you do think about him it won't hurt anymore.

Eventually you will even stop thinking about him.

Takes time, time is a great healer.

Yes he knows and we have chats and then eveyrthing ok for a few weeks then all goes pear shaped. We have lots of outside things not helping also. I cant change the way he is and the thing is I think he is with me as he does not want to hurt me if you know what I mean etc.. some days he is loving and caring then he can go weeks without a hug or kiss and hate it.

I am going to move on as know the only way forward an din my heart it 'feels' right if you know what I mean.

3 months in and things slowly getting easier. Crying isn't every day but I still miss him so much it hurts.

I think only time can make the pain fade.

somtimes it helps to write it down, so there is always a point.

as said, time is a healer. just not nice to have to live it at the time.
