lack of attraction

Met a really old friend last night for the first time in years and it is obvious he fancies me. He always did years ago as well. He is so nice, has a good job etc and I am a single mum who would love to find someone nice.

The problem is I just don't find him attractive - he has put on weight but mainly around his bum area so has a very large bum! I feel so shallow, I'm not an oil painting myself!
wish I could get over myself really.

I'm shallow too, most of us are.

When dating I met the following:

Man with a really large head - not for me
Very fat rolly polly man who had to prize himself out of little sports car - not for me
Very small Policeman (must have patrolled Lilliput) - not for me

Best stop now as could fill a page.

If you don't fancy him then it's a non starter really isn't it.

It's not shallow. I don't think you should expect a partner to have a certain level of attractiveness, but they need to be attractive to you! That's the important bit.

Attractiveness can potentially increase over time though, you could always see him again just in case you think his wit might win you over?

If you don't fancy him, you just don't. Any man who is interested is not better than no man.

If you're ready to look for someone, get looking, but don't settle for someone you're not attracted to. Aim for a nice person who treats you well that you fancy the pants off.
