Please could any of you lovely people on here tell me your experience of how you felt your DCs were effected by domestic abuse and what you managed to do to protect them. Thankyou

I think as long as you are providing your DS with a stable, calm and consistent environment he will be fine. Living with DV can be very damaging but children are remarkably resilient and if you get them out at a young age, which you've done, and provide the right home environment for them I'm sure they will make a good recovery. I'm not sure that nursery could stop him picking DS up though, if he's got PR then he's got as much right to take him as you have. I think you need a residence order which would mean that if exP picked him up or didn't return him after contact he'd have to. Don't think I've worded that very well but I expect you get the gist. I'm not a solicitor though so maybe you should put a post on legal about it.

Thankyou
I had no idea how different supported was from supervised until a couple of days ago and there's no way that supported contact would be able to deal with the kind of problems he would cause.. and yes I need to give all the information about the injunction to the nursery when he starts... I wouldn't have done that, if you hadn't said.

I'm worried about him snatching DS if he finds out where we are so I will look into a residency order. I'll ask my solicitor about that tomorrow definately.

And I'm going to get a folder too....tomorrow... There's so much paper work and I need to start organising it better.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate your replies xx
