Just needed to get that out into the ether. Feel better now. Well, actually, I don't, but you know....

Anyone else want to join me on the 'My in-laws are tosser's' bus?

Mine died earlier this year but was not a nice woman.
I was never good enough for her son and she never ever kissed/cuddled my children.
I did not go to the funeral and dh went out of duty, not love.
FIL is good, and actually has a new lease of life since she died.

Thanks Attila. I'm sorry you've had it that way too.

That sounds like a great strategy. I will try it but don't have much hope.
Problem here is we have an adorable 3 yo dd2 in addition to ds (18) and dd1 (17)...so I know the blinders will be on to filter out everyone but her. My dh is her well proclaimed 'favorite' child -out of 5, so he always get a hero's welcome.

She does make it a point to talk to me within the first hour we are there. For 5 minutes I am interrogated, then, well that duty is done. Hmm

My dh does notice. At first he used to laugh. Angry But then I started to refuse to go, so he understands that he, at least, must respect me when we are there. Wink
