hiya my girlfriend is always on about mums net so i thought id come on and ask u girls some advice please!!

i want to propose to her and i dont know what she would want. cute sweet infront of people or privatly? whats romantic enough and whats over the top?

basically if i give you my idea can u help tweek it!?

we live in south wales and her favorite thing to do is go for drives over the brecon beacons stopping for a cuppa out of our flask. everytime we sit there she always says i'd love to climb up there pointing to a large climb-able hill/mountain across from us (we always stop in the same (ish) spot.
we've always got the children with us aged 4 and 1 so going for that climb is not an option.

i was thinking of getting my mother-in-law to have the children for us and then suggest to my girl friend of going for a drive, as we pull in to 'our' spot i was gonna suggest that why not climb the hill now we've got the chance? hopefully she'll say yes and in my ruck sack i ll have our trusty flask but this time it will be filled with champagne, and instead of our sarnies and pasties in our lunch box perhaps take some strawberries or something.
then whilst over looking the beautiful land scape asking her to marry me!

hopefully she'll say yes and then we can go back to the car where our actual sarnies will be ha ha!!

What you reckon??

Sounds like a fine plan. No tweaking needed, as long as mil will have the children it will work beautifully I should think.
Lovely and very romantic and she will love it.
My dh wrote it in the sand whilst we were on holiday so I saw it from our balcony.

Aww how lovely! Propose to me?? Smile

I think your hill walk sounds much more romantic and personal than Lodon Eye as that is a little bit tacky. Good luck!

Perfect! Now you need to stop her reading this or she'll not be surprised. I'm sure she'll guess who you are if she reads your post.
Only way to do that is to stop it being in the active conversations, so thank everyone and sign off!

I think it's way more romantic to tweak a regular occurrence (the drive / hill thing) than set up a totally irregular event, like the London Eye or something.
