A question regarding harassment and police cautions

If a person had been cautioned twice in the past six months for email/letter harassment of the same person (an ex) and then did something else, slightly more serious (going to her home) what is likely to happen to him? Apparently he has been invited in to give a statement but not arrested (yet). He seems to think he will get another caution. I felt that was unlikely given that he has had two and that it is an escalation, what is likely?

The chap is lucky to have been cautioned twice. Are you certain one was a caution and not a harassment warning? A third interview/arrest in this scenario is unlikely to result in a caution however it does depend on the circumstances... has he admitted to the offence? What other evidence is available?

Oops, forgot to say the blinding obvious response of, he may well find himself charged. That depends on the aforementioned questions...

i'd hope he'd be charged but you never can tell with the police and the CPS. Your friend would probably benefit from seeing a solicitor and applying for a non molestation order with the power of arrest. Also she should ring Women's Aid and see if there's a local outreach service that can support her. It's worrying that he's continuing the harassment for such a long time and she should be risk assessed. She could also ask the police to get a Crime Reduction Officer to look at her home and see if any security upgrades are required.

I don't know the full details, nor does my friend (my friend is not the victim BTW, my friend is his current GF - yes, yes and I have told her)

They obviously have the emails and the letter/s. The most recent was him putting his business card through her door (but her home is mobile and he states that he didn't expect to see it there)

I would be extremely surprised if he wasn't arrested - my friend didn't seem to have considered this Hmm

He has two cautions for harassment, he wasn't expecting to see her mobile home but thought it'd be nice to put his business card through her door Hmm. Right.

Yes, yes I know! I know, I just hope the police know too...

God my friend is so naive :(
