of course you dont have to find someone else if thats what suits you

but you also dont have to lay a guilt trip on your spouse saying ooooooh i dont want you to find someone else when i kick the bucket

I love my own company and am never bored.

I don't know if I would have got involved with someone new after H died; I got together with DP because I knew him so well and had always thought I really wanted to be with him but neither of us was in the right place at the right time.

Don't forget that there are quite a few people who simply have no interest in long term couple partnerships anyway. I have never married or lived with a partner and I think my life is probably better for the fact.
