Ok I know at the mo am prob drinking too much but AIBU not to?? DH was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer 4 weeks ago, he's just had major surgery to remove pancreas, bile ducts, duodenum & gall bladder. He's now back at home. My dad is bipolar & Psychotic, I have my mum phoning me every hour as she's at the end of her tether. On top of that I have 3 small demanding girls. Oh yes & a 7 month old pup. Tonight I've had 2 glasses of red & dh says oh i thought you were back on your diet - well FFS can I please be a little stressed & be allowed some time out? Or not?

Rolo, sorry what you are going through. Pancreatic cancer I know is very aggressive. I think you deserve two glasses of red! You need some time out! Maybe your DH gets more concerned about things now after his problems and worries more. Enjoy your red. Hope your DH comes round and understands you need one! Often people don't realise how difficult it is for people who are caring for people who are sick. My mum is the same with my dad who has fibrosis of th lungs and it really wears her down. I would find it hard too x

You're not being unreasonable at all, especially under the circumstances (and I used to live with an alcoholic). I was helping care for my dad last year and it such hard work. You definitely deserve a little escape :) Thinking of you.

You deserve to have a few drinks, and it wont ruin your diet either!

With all that is going on for you at the moment, you need to be able to unwind and chill out for a few hours in the evening if you can.
