every day would you class this as suspicious behaviour. Will go into more detail later as I am just rushing out. Your thoughts would be welcome. Thanks

What history? browsing history? Call history? Text message history?

How do you know they delete this every day?

I set my browser on my computer to delete everytime I exit. Is that suspicious behaviour on my part or am I just someone who values my privacy?

jaffacake79 · 02/03/2011 14:02

Could be that their phone is running slowly and so they've set this up to maximise the space and speed.

If you're thinking there's something suspicious why not just ask?

TeeBee · 02/03/2011 14:23

Not really. I like keeping my phone clear of crap.

MaryMungo · 02/03/2011 14:24

I have to clear my phone's browser history nearly everyday, as some websites I use won't refresh otherwise. Something to do with caching. Don't have an iPhone, tho....

potplant · 02/03/2011 14:30

I delete my browsing history every day and I'll delete messages I don't need as well. Otherwise my phone gets filled up really quickly.

I also delete call history at the end of the day as I use it for work calls and I don't want my DCs accidentally phoning/texting my boss.

I am certainly not up anything.

Glamour · 02/03/2011 15:06

well i think it depends!! i would be a little suspicious actually,

just ask him why he does it

emmyloopsyloo · 02/03/2011 15:09

No I delete mine every day,c auses me headaches otherwise.

No I'm not shagging about either. Just have an iphone with too much on it.

Mymblesson · 02/03/2011 15:11

If the iPhone browser is anything like most internet browsers, you can set it to clear history every day to free up resources and make sure you get the latest version of web pages. Perhaps that's the default? Or perhaps he's set it up like that for the reasons I mentioned.

Mouseface · 02/03/2011 15:11

Going off your OP with no more info, no. I keep my phone clear otherwise it takes up memory.

I'm guessing there is more to come?

squeakytoy · 02/03/2011 15:40

I never delete mine, but can understand why people do. Plenty of people are in the habit of deleting history to clear the cache, cookies, and potential viruses.

inspireddance · 02/03/2011 16:25

Delete mine for privacy and space. Don't forget if you lose your phone you don't want people being able to view your websites and logins.

talleyrand · 02/03/2011 17:14

depends what you call suspicious.

he's deleting the history so that other people who have access to his phone can't see it.

could be a hundred reasons for that.. but all the reasons have one thing in common: the history contains stuff that he doesn't want anyone who has access to his phone to see.

it doesn't mean a secret lover though, it could be something completely harmless like watching a lot of porn or a secret gambling addiction, drug dealing, or perhaps he's planning a burglary with some friends.

potplant · 02/03/2011 20:29

'the history contains stuff that he doesn't want anyone who has access to his phone to see' - not necessarily. As I said above I do it so if doesn't eat into my memory and makes browsing a PITA.

Thingumy · 02/03/2011 20:52

I delete my cache and history every day as it clogs it up and browsing gets slow

I also delete my texts unless they contain important info such as a appointment date or an address.

talleyrand · 02/03/2011 22:25

rubbish - no one need to delete history on an iPhone every day for performance reasons. An iPhone is very sophisticated piece of kit: it manages its cache and history very well, it has GBs of storage. it can go for months without ever clearing history and without ever getting remotely full...
