a couple of weeks ago my husband told me that he wanted to seperate. after being together for 14 years, married for 6.5 years and two children this was a bit unexpected for me.
I know want to make sure I will find a good divorce lawyer to ensure that the kids and me are looked after. He is quite happy to give me the house and pay the mortgage and stuff, but I want to make sure that it is all legally correct.
Does anybody know how I know who is a good lawyer (who doesn't just want to earn money but acutally will advise me and fight my corner).

when i needed to find a good lawyer i went and saw a couple of them, and asked around locally if anyone i knew had used them i eventually settled for one that specialized in family law, do a bit of research, they are all expensive tbh, the ones i saw ranged from £160 +vat an hour to £230 + vat an hour, most will give you a free 30 min session with them and then you can see if you gel with them, i would agree with you in getting it all done legally so it doesnt cause trouble months down the line when your H gets fed up with realises how much it will cost in CM and mortgage, good luck
