Hi there,

I'm a relative newbie and mostly lurk, and am in therapy at the moment for reasons partly linked to my childhood, and partly due to Traumatic Stress caused in adulthood.

I found this link, which you may think more suitable for the education board, but because it talks about self-esteem and narcissism which crop up here quite often in the context of relationships, I thought it might interest some others.

ceep.crc.illinois.edu/eecearchive/books/selfe.html

As I am in TA therapy, and learning to manage my inner child while fighting off my critical parent and looking for my adult without feeling as though this work is a symptom of narcissism Hmm(my therapist says it's not but of course I have to have tiny doubts cos that's my script....)it interested me to read so much about how children develop in these contexts.

Hope it is interesting to others too :)

As an ex teacher and parent, I found some of these ideas very interesting. Thanks!

Oops, sorry if the link was awry, I'm a bit technologically challenged, so thank you MissHissyFit for doing that :)

:) Doigthebountyeater, glad it was of interest!
