I am addicted to chat forums...

I can't stop logging-on to chat forums and fighting with people. The fact that I'm talking to invisible, anonymous strangers gives me a buzz. I don't think I am a very nice person because some of the things I say to people is horrible.. I keep rubbing people up the wrong way and falling out with everyone on chat boards.
But I am inexplicably drawn to one particular forum every time I switch my computer on.
How do I stop? It's starting to ruin my life. life is too short to fight with total strangers on the internet.

If you get a buzz from fighting, then maybe you need to go and find out why you get your buzz that way.

How do you handle conflict in real life? Do you feel like people walk over you in real life and maybe being a terror online feels naughty and daring? Were you denied the opportunity to act out as a child?

I'm just guessing here! If I were you I'd talk to a counsellor to find out the attraction of online scrapping and see if you can get the same buzz from something more positive or fix the issue thats creating the need.

I think this would be successful because you've isolated this for yourself and its a specific issue to be dealt with.

Just ideas here - please don't be offended if I'm barking up the wrong tree!
