I think my FIL suffered bad EA from my MIL. He used to get angry at her behaviour and complain but he still loved her. Me and my family used to cringe at the way she treated him in front of us - what was she like in private! I could never bring it up with him though.

The partner of a friend of mine was horribly abused by his first wife, who was also an alcoholic - she used to regularly hit him, actualy broke his nose once. He developed breast cancer when he was 25, possibly triggered by all the stress.

He's much better off now with my lovely friend!

MY SIL has been violent to my brother in the past. Don't know about now but he has had to call the police before because she was out of control and smashing up his house.

I happened to catch this last night - it was really sad. Facts and figures interspersed with one's man's story, which was truly shocking. Sad
