Dating websites question

I'm not ready for dating yet but have been on various dating websites to have a look and recognised some people I know on them from the town I live in, I was thinking of joining later in the year but a bit worried that people will recognise me (not people I would want to date and may tell ex). Anyone else been in this position? Am I overthinking this??

I have not but wanted to say that most sites akcnowledge that not everyone can have their pictures on public sites so they give you the the option of making your pictures private and only available to people you are interested in meeting up with.

You could be over-thinking this. I met dp on internet dating and if those other people have their profiles up, then they will hardly judge you for having yours up. It could be a laugh

At some point you will be ready to day, you ex will have to deal with that. How you choose to date, online or not, is up to you.
