SIL not talking

OK, so no-one asked for my opinion. I offered it anyway. It was only about the school her daughter wants to send her son to. I worked there, dcs were bullied there. There are mixed classes (some of Y2, all Y3, some Y4 for eg). DH and I both gave our opinions. (We moved our dcs BTW)

SIL didn't understand concept of mixed year groups (my fault for my poor explanation as she kept pointing out). Then she left, has now texted dh we shouldn't see each other after the other evening.

In one way I couldn't care less, but have never ever not been on speaking terms with someone before. She frequently has. Won't even go into the education background.

I could have moaned at a party 7 years ago when dh told her I was pregnant again - "Oh God (said in disgust) - I'd get rid of it." Actually we're quite fond of our little dd.

DH says not to worry - she's like this, but i I want to moan, and everyone's saying enough already, she's like that. Sounds pathetic but I can't sleep.

I could give you hundreds of reasons why she's wound me up over the past 25 years and made me feel bad for not being pretty enough. My dcs could give you reasons I shouldn't feel like this. Pathetic, but want someone to say something nice.

Well I think she's done you a favour by not talking to you. Now you don't have to listen to her vile comments anymore.
Shock at "get rid of it". That is just nasty.
She sounds completely poisonous.

Thanks - I'm more over it now - back to school and coffee with a friend has put it in a bit of perspective for me!
