My mum knows we go swimming on a sunday, at 6.30, in fact she pays for the kids to go so she more than knows.
Last weekend she turned up here at 6.20...as we would have been leaving to go, but we werent as the kids were shattered and I thought they were too tired to go swimming and didnt want them to drown.
This morning she rang and said shedd be round to drop some stuff off today AT SOME POINT and I just knew it was going to be a 6.20 drop the stuff off and drive away....
...and I was right, so i didnt tell the kids she was coming but I did say...why are you turning up here just as we are leaving to which she said she had been held up by her friend whos she was round at before coming here...
...she turned up at the same time last week, she had a smirk on her face as she drove away.
She gets kicks out of things like this.
Its grating on me. I feel like ringing her and telling her the kids wanted her to see the stuff they have made, but that would give her pleasure........RANT...

Is there any chance you could leave early to go swimming next time she's going to come round?? If you left at 6.15, and she turned up at 6.20 I think that would be good comeupance

BTW - I'm very impressed you have your family up and out of the house that early

Why does she turn up then?

Because she knows you're going out and she won't have to stay long? To make you late?

expatinscotland · 02/10/2005 20:41

Id leave early, too

QueenOfQuotes · 02/10/2005 20:41
  • I was wondering
scaryman · 02/10/2005 20:42

Don't you mean 6.30 at night?

creepycat · 02/10/2005 20:42

I think so she doesnt have to stay at all full stop, but tommorow if im working, she will come here and tidy/clean for me...without me asking and even if I tell her the place is spotless.
Maybe I smell?

I dont get it .Why does she do this .

creepycat · 02/10/2005 20:43

Yeah at night , after having ALL of sunday to pop in she pops in at the exact moment we are walking out the door. I will leave at 5.30 and take the kida to Mcdonalds next weekend. And double lock my door so she cant get in. Hmmmph.
