weirdo peering through cat flap!

OMG! the strangest things has happened!

My kitchen door is down the side of my house, you have to go past thorns and squish through the gap by the car, and you have to go past a heavy gate to get to the kitchen door, it is not somewhere I have ever had anyone knock on before.

There had been a lot of banging at the cat flap just before, having two cats it was still quite a bit of bashing going on.

I was sitting down on the phone, which i put down, with my kids watching tv minding our own business, I am a long parent and have had an abusive exp.

There was a terrifying sound of someone banging on windows, I could not tell where it was from. I looked out the front door peep hole and could not see anyone, have a really good 180 degree one! I was shaking and very scared, it was so strange. Then another bang, i left it, I was thinking of ringing the police. Eventually I got a large object in my hand and braved moving the curtain to see who was there, it was a weird woman who I have never seen before who looked as if she was roughly dressed, I was so stunned I did nothing then closed the curtain, I was no way going to open the door to her.

Then I looked out spy hole, nothing, and called out I am calling the police, I had the phone in my hand, she came around, squishing through the tiny gap by car and geting her clothes torn on thorns, saying she was a neighbour, I have never seen her before!

I kept saying I find her strange.

She then went on about why would my cat go to her house, stating it was in her house all the time, what does the cat not want to go homve for, do I feed it etc... I said yes I feed it and it is here lots. I would then add this is all so strange. She then went on about a guy came here to ask me could he lock his cat falp and lock my cat out, I said to him yes, that was months ago, it was a nothing incident, I recognise him as my neighbour, his cat comes in here and the cats all have massive high pitched squelling fights it is what cats do. She then went on and on saying she wants to get to the bottom of this and understand why! I told her again I find this all strange, I can't control the cat! I said I am sorry the cat is coming into her home. I said if she wants she can buy a new cat flap with alock and I will pay for it, if that is what she wants if she wants me to pay the 9.99 I could see delight in her eyese, and shut the door on her.

The bloody cats had a field day with loads of lovely fresh meat, dry food, wet food etc, I fed my cats left over salmon etc the lot. There seems to be a problem with only one of my cats going into theier house.

I have no idea what the hell this was all about, I am still a bit shell shocked about it really, what a strange way to behave.

Hang on, Dooin ... three people, obsessed with the quality of their neighbours' cat care?

Do you live in the same street as OP???!!!

We have a mad cat woman who sent a letter to all our neighbours saying that our cat was left outside all the time and had died of starvation (she didn't, she had a cat flap, full run of the house, she was very old and died of kidney failure). It was all very upsetting. Beware mad cat people.

That's horrible MarionCole. That's not a mad cat person, it's a total wanker.

ItsGraceAgain · 04/01/2011 00:28

I was just imagining what I would think if I got a letter like that ... "What nutcase sent this?"

A locked-out car doesn't die of starvation! It gets a bit raggedy from having to hunt/scavenge its food, then finds some sucker like me to take it in. Every catperson knows that! Tsk!

a locked-out cat

... though I'd quite like to see a car hunting for petrol!
