Can a leopard change his spots?

I left my DH a few weeks sgo, but I really miss him, and want to go home.

I left after putting up with his drinking behaviour for years. It would seem that he has now resolved to stop drinking, joined a counselling group and dearly wants us home.

Can a leopard change his spots?

I've always said if he stopped drinking then things would be fine as he is generally good when he is sober. The kids adore him. I have been off work with depression, and am seeing a psychiatrist and a psychologist. My head is in a bit of a muddle.

Any words of advice much appreciated.

Thank you for your advice - he's now aware that we're not intending to go bach for the forseeable future, and we are now looking to rent a house in our new town. I will have to get DS1 into a pre-school nursery.

My childminder contract states she needs 3 months notice, and my kids have not been for a month now (she charges for holidays and no shows). I think I might see if she will accept a shorter notice period given that she's not looking after the kids. Do you think that's reasonable?

Also planning to resign from my job - again I'm supposed to work 3 months notice, but as I'm signed off with depression, maybe this can be shortened too.

I have a stress headache now!

Anyway - wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
