Link between having a narc parent then narc relationship

Just out of interest, I'm wondering if there is link between being brought up by a narcissist parent and then having a relationship with a narc in adult life? Is it just coincidence, or is there something else going on?

No it is not a coincidence. We often model our life partners from the blueprint we have been given by our parents. Despite the obvious contadictions we have seen. I know of one girl whose mother was abused and killed by her father who embarked on abusive relationships.

It depends how you are using the term narc. My parents were abusive. my mum fits the definition of NPD extremely well. My Dad abused me very badly, especially sexually and would definitely be categorised as having a personalty disorder.

I spent seven years with an abusive man, who fits the pattern of a number of personality disorders, best fit is borderline. I believe we repeat the lessons of our childhood in adult life unless we learn how messed up it was. For most people, including me, this involves psychotherapy.
