i hate being kind, thoughtful and normal, most of all i hate that i am honest and don't play games

it just leads to heartache and low self esteem, and hurt.

Some of us are on this earth to take all the crap that people give us until such time as they mortally offend us.

I spent last weekend with a girlfriend who told me I had over stepped her "line" because I happened to mention to my DH (via mobile) that she was needing me to discuss problems. Result was, we shall NEVER talk again - she was viscious and she was cruel and I did not deserve it.

Lesson learnt! Be kind, thoughful and normal with those folk who are similar to you.

Sorry, just realised your post was a while ago. But gosh, what nice people here!

Lemonstartree - do you say this because your good personality traits have been taken advantage of alot? I suppose so. Trouble is - not everyone is so straightforward.

You sound like me - experience has just led to low self-esteem and hurt. But keep positive - apparently having a nice kind character can be worthwhile with the right person/people!!!!!!

it's a shame when your boundaries are weak and you have the traits you have, as there are so many rotters out there ready to take advantage, rather than change the nice things about you that make you happy, change your boundaries and who you spend time with x

Good advice there, from mummiehunnie :) It sounds as if you've got landed with some people who can't see "nice" without thinking "sucker", and wouldn't know normal if it was floating in their soup! They're not normal - you are, so shut them out and save your niceness for other normal, nice people. Good luck!

Oh LemonTree, you know you can be all those (good) things and still not be vulnerable to people who take advantage.

You just need to be choosy over who you are nice to. You have ot be careful and let people earn your nice, thoutful, kind traits.

Yes, OP. Your nice, kind traits will not be taken advantage of with the right people/person. It is hard to believe if you have had a rough time.

I think all of us have been stomped on in one way or another. It's a shame but nice people like us just need to learn to toughen up a bit!
