If you are married do you wear a wedding ring?

Just interested really.

I have not worn my rings for a few days because my finger has been sore and it feels really nice to not have them on. Got me wondering why we wear them in the first place, is it purely to let other people that we are 'taken'?

I always wear mine, and my eternity ring

I don't wear an angagement ring

DH has one, but never bothers to wear it, except for special occasions. Actually, I don't even know where it is

I wear my engagement and wedding rings all the time. Doubt they could actually come off now, other than being cut off. Ah, old age doesn't come itself, comes with swelling digits.

Dh wears his wedding band always too. Its a symbol of our commitment I guess, rather than 'I'm taken' notice.

me and DH both wear our rings the majority of the time (except for washing up) Initially DH was going to take his off when he went to work but he hasnt ever done this afaik.

When we got married part of the ceremony talked about the significance of the rings and that they represented love that nevers ends. This is why i wear mine and i would like to think this is why DH wears his. Wink

Also my engagement ring is an unusual shape so my wedding ring is shaped to fit it and looks abit odd if its worn on its own Grin

No, I did not want an engagement or wedding ring, I think they are anachronistic. I know I am married - that is all I need.

It never ceases to amaze me how many people notice if someone else is wearing a wedding ring or not... I never ever notice! My DP commented that it was one of the first things he noticed on me when we met (that I was not wearing a ring). To be honest, I had no idea if he was wearing one or not... never even crosses my mind to look at people's fingers!

Me neither!

Yes, with my engagement ring. So does dh. 'Tis the wedding vows.

My fingers kept getting fatter changing size so I stopped wearing a wedding ring for many years.

I got a new one for Xmas last year and have worn it ever since.

Sometimes. Gets itchy.

I wore mine for the first 8 months or so, but I was never terribly happy with it or my engagement ring. They used to be uncomfortably tight if my hands were hot and would sometimes fall off in cold weather. I had an allergic reaction to something when we were in Malaysia and everything swelled up (lips, eyes, fingers). I had to soak my hand in a bowl of iced water to be able to get the rings off and I haven't put them back on again in the 19 years since then.
