Couldn't work out if this should go in 'Relationships' or 'In the news' so apolgies if this is the wrong forum.

Touching story in The Daily Mail today about the author Kate Mosse, who lives with her DH, DC's, parents AND in-laws.

Sweet that it works for them but would be a nightmare for most I imagine! With younger people saddled with student debt and unable to afford to buy property, and pensioners living for longer, I think it's highly likely we'll see a lot more people forced in to these kind of living arrangements in the future.

Yeah - but it might be difficult for the parents as well as the kids.

Extended families are fine as long as you are into that sort of thing. I've seen both sides and I prefer the nuclear family. But that's me.

The thought of my son growing up and depending on me makes me feel faintly sick, as is the thought of me being dependent on my adult son.

I could not under any circumstances live in any Waltonesque family set up. I will never have a parent or in law living with me ever.
