Any truth in Horoscope compatibility???

Sorry not really sure where to put this, but can't find a Horoscope thread!!

I am admittedly a bit of a paradox...as although I claim not to believe in horoscope traits, I do have some belief and just wondered are they really true??

More specifically, is anyone in a successful relationship with someone who is supposed to be their opposite..and therefore should have crashed and burned a long time ago??

I only know DS's star sign because, on finding out his name, about 5/10 people ask if I named him for his star sign. Hmm

He was named for my great grandfather, and no, it's not a nickname.

I couldn't have a relationship with a bloke who took astrology seriously. If "I'm David and I'm Aries" came out on a first date it would be our last.
Astronomers on the other hand tend to be geeky and clever and are much more attractive to me.

It is a load of tosh.

Hi there,
this is a very interesting discussion. You're referring to your zodiac signs and not the ascendants I guess.
I think it depends on how you look at an horoscope, there are many different approaches.
For me it's always interesting to read my horoscope.

:)

This thread has been resurrected from a distant star Grin

Love astrology, but it is so much deeper than your sun sign..what sign is your and his Venus in? That will give you more of an accurate insight into how you are in relationships. if you have his birth time and location of birth it can go very deep. I’m talking about certain planets/signs in houses. They all mean something different.

I had my natal charts done and couldn’t believe how spot on it was in accordance with my personality and even life lessons/paths. It even managed to tell me why I’m attracted to fire signs and I’m an earth sign..(Virgo) Astrology doesn’t claim to know everything about a person as everyone has different paths in life but I know many people who have done their natal charts and been blown away. Never go by just your sun sign. That is just a very small part of you.

@saltfish: I just had a look at my yearly horoscope on astrosofa.com as I got inspired reading this thread.
I've heard already about signs in different houses etc. but I don't know where to start. Do you have any advice where I can find out about the basics? Also where did you have your natal charts done?
I'd like to get more involved into this huge subject!

I know, I’m still a novice but even if you don’t believe in astrology it’s still good fun to do your natal charts.

I’d go to cafeastrology...all you need is your birthday, birth time(exact does help as it does make a difference) and location of birth. Cafe astrology will break it all down for you.

I’ve attached a chart for the meanings of each house for you.

As for planets in certain signs at the time of your birth I would just google whatever your results are..each planet governs a certain aspect of your life for example my Venus is in Leo..which while I’m a Virgo my love life is like more of a Leo as far as demands and expectations. Seriously have fun with it and do post your results..I’m very interested!!

Great! Thank you very much!
Thank you for the chart of the meanings of the houses.
I'll check out everything later!
I have to run some errands right now :)

No, it's all utter bollocks. And like JiggeryPopery I also couldn't be in a relationship with anyone who believes in it (or religion, or homeopathy, or karma ...)
