will they tell him? (banks)

tried logging into dh's bank, spying. have my reasons. got password wrong 3 times, they revoked his password. Now he can't get in. He has been given a number to call to get his account back.
Will they investigate and tell him the attempts were made from this house? am terrified he'll find out. He doesn't suspect me yet but thinks "someone" has been trying to get into his account.
Will we be able to pass it off as one of those stupid bank errors?

If you used the same computer then yes it's likely they'll be able to tell him that it came from the same IP address he usually logs in with.

If you used a different computer they won't know it was the same house though.

Are you okay? Why are you "terrified" he might find out? Would it be that bad if you just explained your concerns to him?

DO you bank with the same bank? Can you wing it and say you mat have been typing in your password to his details, as his details had come up automatically? I doubt they give away too much info, I can rarely get info about my own account sometimes

I don't work for a bank, but imo, I'd be surprised if the bank went as far as tracing IP numbers at this stage.
The attempt to log into your DH's account was unsuccessful, so they will probably tell your DH that there were X amount of attempts to log into his account, which were all unsuccessful, and as a precaution, the bank have revoked his password temporarily for security reasons.

He will be sent a new password, and bingo, he's back in business.

OP, what uptomyeyesinit wrote. I just wanted to add that most banks display the last date, month and time your online account was accessed (Googlemail does this too), so even if you were successful in accessing his account, that's another safety measure you will need to overcome.
