Help with addiction

I think I am addicted to mumsnet. It has reached the point where I am compelled to check on here every time I see a computer - and, as with the true definition of an addiction, I am carrying on despite it having a negative impact on my life. I am currently sitting at work, not doing any of it, as I am on here. When I am at home in the evening I would much rather be on mumsnet than watching football with DH, ironing shirts, putting the children to bed or making the lunches for the next day.

Discuss at length please??

OMG I can see myself in your shoes very soon so I will have to learn to resist whilst i still can.
My DH says to friends that "DW has a whole new social life on the computer" and my DD says "mummy you are always on the computer" so I know i am on a slippery slope too aarrrgh!
Think MN is def more favourable to watching football/ironing shirts but not being able to put kids to bed because you are on there, you def have an addiction.

I was out all day yesterday and only went on for a few minutes in the morning and half hour in the evening as was so tired, it did me the world of good so i will def be cutting down as i use a computer for work and it's distracting me also. Your post is my wake up call so thankyou for posting.

Not sure what to suggest TBH unless you have a guilty jar and you have to put £1 (or £5) in every time you log on and then when you resist the urge you can spend it on something frivilous just for you.

Let us know how you are doing and good luck Smile
