Get off the damn pill! Mine vanished as well so I threw them in the bin. Not come back with a vengence mind but better than it was. Also, pill made me fed up.

The pill, anti-depressants and tiredness - can all have a detrimental effect on your libido. Strike three for moo - no wonder my poor dh looks miserable.

I don't know the answer - but if you find yours can you have a look if mine's there too and send it home?

snap. Im never interested in sex, and it causes probs sometimes as dp gets offended if i keep giving him the brush off.

I know its the pill, keepthinking about trying the coil, but im too chicken to have it inserted.

I did try Damiana for a while (herbal thing - I got it in Holland and Barratt's) but I kept forgetting to take it and I'm not sure it had much of an effect anyway.

Been wondering the same thing myself - about the pill I mean. I'm scared to go off it because I definitely do NOT want more kids but I'm pretty sure it's killed my sex drive.

Tried the coil but had some side effects - although friend uses it and says it is fab. Never has to worry about anything. Having it fitted was a bit sore but compared to childbirth, well!

So what to do?
Condoms - NO
Injection? - worried about gaining loads of weight - and anyway wouldn't that effect your libido too? Does anyone know?

more than likely the pill. And it is possible to get used to condoms. Def prefer them over the coil in any case.

Hmmmm, I didn't have much libido on the pill to be honest but now I am pregnant poor DH is getting even less! Maybe it's just me? Saying that I had a very horny fortnight a few months ago but then I was surrounded by sun, sea and sangria - I think a holiday might be in order Northerner

how about using the persona machine? red days, condoms, green days nothing ( way hay...!). Plus if you then decide you want to ttc, you are told when you are ovulating..... it is a bit expensive though... I gave up on the pill years ago...

I have your answer ladies! I have just started using the Evra patch-stick it on your back once a week for three weeks,have a week off-Bob's your uncle!

Don't know how effective it is yet though or side effects but my Dr said it was ideal for me as was scared shitless of coil,forgot to take my pill-got pregnant with condoms etc etc.

I've never even heard of that Dropinthe - sounds fantastic though, I always used to forget my pill too and never fancied the coil. Let us know later on in the year if it is still doing it's job.

Patches and injections are (I think) the same sorts of hormones as you get with the pill - likely to cause the same side-effect.

(That being said, there isn't just one pill, there are different sorts, and a different brand might suit you better, if you're happy with it in every other way?)

But evra patch contains the same hormaones as the pill, just delivers them differently.

You are probably right-to me,they are just more convenient than remembering to take my pill.

in the USA you can get your 'free testosterone' levels checked - oh but not in good old blighty - they always put it down to things external rather than a chemical inbalance - mind you I have heard getting levels back up is a bit of hit and miss affair - I think you could end up with a beard but be rampant for it every 2 minutes

Mine disappeared in the post-natal period. However, it resurrects itself temporarily from time to time (much to DH relief ). Most of the time though I've no idea where it is - perhaps under that pile of washing.

I want to get jiggie with my dp but end up just going to sleep instead, would you say the pill is responsible for that or plain old tiredness?
For all those of you who came off your pill, did you suddenly get a nympho type libido back or was it at least noticable? Did it do anything to your weight, does the pill 'encourage' you to put on pounds?

Jools-I have always wondered about my hormone levels and have thought about getting them checked privately.

I definitely think it is the pill. I am on it and have been for the last 5 years bar pregnancy and my labido is virtually non existant.
It was much more "here" before i went back on the pill after having DD but since it has gone AWOL.
