Have already posted in chat but was advised to post here too.Have name changed because i really need advice for my best friend.

Husband has told her its over and there's no going back. It was totally out of the blue so she's messed up. She has been left with two young children.

She works 12 hours a week and has only just returned to work after being a SAHM for 8 years. What advice can you give? Who should she contact regarding changes in income etc? Thanks everyone!

Get in touch with her local job centre, see the lone parent adviser and they will help with all the applications for working tax credit etc. I think to claim the child care element you have to be working a minimum of 16 hours though xx`

Me too. Her world has fallen apart. Everyone is in shock. We just hope her hubby comes to his senses. He refuses to see anyone about the relationship.

We all hope that there is no-one else involved.
