Is your dp/dh your equal??

Following on from Blueteddy's thread the question I would like to ask is - do you feel you have met your equal or soulmate?

It sounds really shallow but I have been out with people before where I think that I could "do better" than them and it was probably based purely on physical looks but then also I have been out with people who I have felt were "too good looking for me" and usually that kind of person has messed me around or hurt me.

With DP I feel like physically he is my equal. I don't think I could do better than him or the other way around.

Do you think this sounds shallow? Its just the way I analyse things as I love the whole concept of relationships!! Although I am crap at giving advice to people!!!!

yes DH is my equal, we have a pretty much balanced relationship, the only obvious unequal things are his physical strength - obviously a lot stronger than me etc.. saying thhat thou I do DYI just as much as he does cooking and cleaning so it's fairly balanced, even thou I do come on here to moan about him he's a good all roubnd cookie. Personality wise etc we're pretty equal.

I think we all moan from time to time. I'm pretty much happy with my dp really. We have similar personalities too - he's quite in touch with his feminine side and loves "friends", what more could a girl want?

In answer to the question, me & my H are not very well suited AT ALL, not sure how we ended up married TBH!

What do you mean Blueteddy? Do you not feel you are equal to him, do you feel like you could do better or he could?

We are complete opposites, he is obssesive about the house & tidiness etc & I am not!
He has a terrible temper & I am too laid back!
We have been married for pushing 10 years, but don't feel we are soul mates!

You sound like me and your dh sounds like my DP!!!

He has a bad temper too and I am quite easygoing, I'm very able to wind him up though!!!

Ten years is something to be proud of though!!! Would you say you are not happy then?

I wind my H up all the time!!!
I do feel scared of his temper & feel I can never be tidy enough for him!
I think he needs a tidy woman, who doesn't spill things over his nice beige carpet & I could do with a more chilled man!!!

he is my mental equiv. a big brainier. very intellectually stimulating.
hes my soulmate. neither of us could get anyone else to put up with us.

I agree with that Custardo.....sometimes when we've had a big row I think to myself who would put up with my snoring and PMT and who would put up with his jealousy!!!

I think we are both the same intellectually but he is quicker with words than me, he has a wit that is sometimes very amusing but other times very annoying.
