Opinion needed- Friend's facebook (again) indiscretion...

An old childhood friend of mine, who I'm very very fond of but don't see very regularly as she lives 300 miles away, is airing her dirty laundry all over facebook. Slagging off her ex husband about his access to the kids (he's a lovely guy and until recently they've got on well), talking about her problems with men, doing some light online stalking etc etc etc.

She is a very popular and funny person with loads of friends(some who are closer than me now) but has always worn her heart on her sleeve and can be fiery. I know she's suffering at the moment but I'm worried about her indiscretion.

Our home town is very small and everyone knows everyone's business anyway so shall I ring/message her and tell her to take it away from facebook before she gets hurt? Or stay out of it and stop worrying?

I'ld just hide her status updates....

How do you do that without defriending someone?

FB seems to bring the worst out in some people.

I hide the posts (permanently) of people who use it in this way because I don't wish to be their audience!

Stay out of it and stop worrying Smile

When you see her status in the news page hover your cursor over the top right corner and an 'x' will appear click that and it will ask you if you want to hide that person. Click yes and you'll wont see her status' etc in the news feed.

I don't know who well received your advice would be. Maybe wait and see how this plays out a bit? How long has she been posting like this?

Thanks everyone.

She's been like it for a couple of months. Before that it was just funny, silly, what facebook SHOULD be for stuff. Will get rid of her updates I think and get drunk with her speak to her next time I go home.

I hide quite a few things - certain applications and status' otherwise I end up thinking too much about other peoples lives and their attention seeking status' Grin
