Buy something nice that you like and feel great in. I've done this recently; couldn't be bothered with trussing up in suspenders etc, so got really lovely silk french knicks and cami thing. but do what you like obviously.

Or, for comedic value, you could one of those frilly 70s numbers with feathers and pom poms and he could chase you round the suite a la Benny Hill...di di diddlidy di di di.....

Blimey, you ARE nervous, aren't you?!

When you said "I know what will happen", did you mean what we thought you meant? What will happen? Confused

DrunkenDaisy · 09/08/2010 18:27

I was only joking honey! Honestly, buy yourself something lovely and have a good time. xx

jesuswhatnext · 09/08/2010 18:52

dont get anything too slutty or you will frighten the poor man to death!! he will think he has to 'perform' instead of enjoy it! Grin

thedevilwearspampers · 09/08/2010 19:02

My DH thought birthday, Christmas and all the holidays in between had come at once when I wore matching, properly supportive and not just a little bit see through black lace bra and thong for the first time after having DD. We did have a posh meal out (I did wear clothes on top at this point) and get shitfaced though, which made it all much less awkward! Wear something simple but sexy, then hammer the wine. And have a laugh!

DrunkenDaisy · 09/08/2010 19:04

It's true; men don't notice the bits we criticise about ourselves. Smile

lisad123isgoingcrazy · 09/08/2010 19:19

yep im nervious, first night alone with no children for 7 years! normally its quiet and not pre thought because of the kids, way too much info i know!!
Im not sure whether to just be me and just make sure my undies match or go mad with something special Confused
anyone suggest some nice places to buy, dont think dressing up is his thing Grin

Depends on your budget. La perla does gorgeous stuff but you can easily get something good from a department store like House of Frasers or Debenhams...

googietheegg · 09/08/2010 19:45

HOw about having a couple of beauty treatments before you go? include a spray tan and you'll feel great.

If you get some nice new underwear and wear plenty of make up, a dress and high heels, it will all go swimmingly!

Shag before dinner and you'll enjoy your meal more!

loves2walk · 09/08/2010 20:08

I'd agree with googie - get one in early before the wine kicks in - the rest is then a bonus!

I would definately get something new as it'll make it feel more special. Try M&S, I recently got a really nice set in black see-through lace with purple underneath, so bit sexy but not expensive and comfy too. Afraid I need the M&S type support nowadays!

googietheegg · 09/08/2010 20:36

There can be too much pressure if you go for the meal all dolled up...parade a bit in your new undies as you get ready and then go for the shag. It will make the whole thing less stressful!

pixierara · 09/08/2010 20:40

ah that's lovely! I also thing having a shag before dinner takes the pressure off!!!! You will have a lovely time and deffo get new undies!!! for BOTH of you!!

FakePlasticTrees · 09/08/2010 20:46

get something new that's relatively comfy, that way you'll wear it again, and when you do you'll think back to that weekend and get a bit of a silly grin.

Oh, and killer heels!
