Eyeing Up Other Women

Now this isn't a huge problem, but a very annoying one.

When were out shopping, DP will blatantly look at other women. I know the type he likes and if I see them coming I watch him to see his reaction. (Which is too unashamedly look at them)

Which he then denies!!!!!!!!!!!

This has lead to rows as at the time it makes me feel like shit when I'm dressed like a tramp with no make up.

Iknow that everyone looks etc but a little discreetness wouldn't go ammiss here. (and respect)

Does this wind anyone else up?

Doesn't bother me. I always take the piss when he tries to do it 'discreetly' as it never is.

Fickle - I can understand what you are saying, i used to be exactly the same about 1 yr ago and yes i was very insecure so i think maybe you are too especially as you are looking at him to see if he looks etc (i done this too) We had huge rows about it and it went on and on. Dp used to say to me he did not look and i must be seeing things etc etc. Anyway i am fine now and feel alot better.

Yes we all do look but i feel that when we are with our partners it is respect not to go looking for the next bit of totty to walk past.
Of course they do it when we are not there but what we don't know does not hurt, but i feel it should not take place when you are together.

i think that it is the lack of respect. I mean if some stunner with a short skirt and huge tits walk by most men would have a glance.

I mean, I hate it when for eg I'm sitting at the busstop, and some pig leers at me when they are sat in their car with their wife and kids.

Fickel it reminds I was in a Safeways ages ago, and this man kept staring at me, thinking he wanted somethign in from the shelf behind me I moved down to another aisle...he followed me which thoroughly pissed me off and he kept following me. Then I turned down an aisle and saw a friend I hadn't seen since school, we hugged and started to catch up, she told me she was there with her husband, but couldn't quite find him at this moment, a minute later he turn up and........he's the guy who had been following me about leering at me.!!! I took great pleasure in watching the look of shock on his face......

I don't disagree that everyone looks at the opposite sex, I do it myself of course, but a little discreetness goes a long way, esp if he knows it annoys me.

Yes it would. I have trained dh to perfect the side long imperceptible glance - so that I can be blissfully unaware of his oggling.

dh is always doing a bit of eyeing up, as am I. And in each others' company. It doesn't bother either of us - we both know it doesn't mean anything and a bit of eye candy goes a long way to brighten up the day! In fact, we both look out for totty which we think the other will have a glance at, then see if they look to see if we were right!

Now please don't take this the wrong way, I'm liable to end up putting foot in mouth with this comment, but you say:

How about not dressing like a tramp and putting on some make up, if it will make you feel better about yourself? I'm guessing it's more than likely you're upset because you're comparing yourself to the other women rather than because DP is looking at them?

It may be a bit 50's housewife, but I always try to look nice for my DH, especially when we go out together.

And be careful, because jealousy can be a self fulfilling prophecy.

This is EXACTLY me and my dp!! It drives me mad!! I know exactly who he will look at so I watch him and he blatantly stares at them lol then will deny it if i make a comment. I don't look anything like I did when we met as I out on 4 stone with my first pregnancy so it makes me feel like a tramp too!!!

My DH does this and the most annoying thing is that the other women he leers at couldn't be less like me.

I know the type he likes too (think Jordan, the more fake and trashy the better) and he is not in the least bit subtle. One day when we were going out a blonde passed up and her tiny miniscule skirt blew up in the wind and DH went on and on about it, "that was classic, ha, ha! Brilliant!" etc, etc.

It doesn't so much make me jealous as simply I find it embarrasing that he is so obvious. It is more likely to make me jealous when he has a thing for a 'real' woman, he likes Nigella Lawson/Kirsty Alsopp, that type of woman feels more like competition.

I love looking at sexy guys and I definatly follow the gorgeous aftershave wearing guys with my eyes, buts its never anything more than just that! I think that everyone feels insecure at times but he is only looking, my man does but at the end of the day if he wanted to be somewhere else I wouldnt want to be with him

And as someone else said, its not actually jealousy, its the point of the fact he does something and knows it annoys me.

I consider myself to be an attractive woman in general, just think a bit of discretion isn't too much to ask for!

"omigod, did you see that bloke who just went past over there, he looked just like Brad Pitt?"
Or just elbow him sharply.
Or say sarcastically "Cor, she was attractive wasnt she? did you see the tits on her?"

mine cant help but look at other women but i knows he loves me but its the Male thing....then i say to him "Oi" and he say "Wha?" "i saw ya" but i do it back to him too...

one time i did tell him that he was embarrassing me as he intend to more or less gawp so i told him to pack it in and he realised that he was going over the top.

I can't understand why you find it disrespectful, it's human nature to look at others, and to admire attractive people. All DP's have annoying habits, but you just learn to live with them. He's not chasing after them and asking for a number is he? Of course he's going to deny looking because he knows he's going to get an earful otherwise. He may even be doing it without realising sometimes. If you really are secure with yourself why does it make you feel like shit? You're looking for it to happen which means you're building it up into something meaningful, which will of course blow it out of proportion and lead to a row.

Yes would find this disrespectful and also HATE the type of men who do this to me when they are with their partners. My dh probably does do it when we are out but I don't notice - if I did I'd tell him he looked like an old letch

But do you not find yourself looking too? The only difference for me is that my thoughts would run along the lines of 'the state of that', 'is that a skirt or a belt', or 'isn't she cold in that', whereas men would just be thinking 'nice tits/arse/legs'.
