god we didn't have sex for ages after and it took a long time before it came right. think it's normal and natural.
all i can say is make sure you are really eelaxed and lots of foreplay etc. it'll all work out .
scuse the typing i've had a few drinks .

stitch · 22/08/2005 22:12

soounds perfectly normal

ok!
But if you are worried about it when you get down to it you will be tense and it will be worse..if you expect it to hurt it will hurt iyswim!!!

angie0201 · 22/08/2005 22:27

yeah seems to help when i relax more like i said as it goes on a bit, i thought that after you have a baby that sort of thing is back to normal in a couple of months

Think it depends! i was but had easy deliveries and no stitches! Just relax thats the best advice but not always easy! just lubricate!!!! Sounds good!!!lol!!!

I had real problems for a while - after 6 months I went to my GP who referred me to a specialist, BUT fortunately for my blushes, it suddenly became comfortable 1 week before my hospital appointment! (at about 9 months pp)

mumtosomeone · 23/08/2005 07:43

ok.
Sure it will all sort its self out!

angie0201, my dd is 14 weeks and I have been the same as what you described. I'm lucky in the fact that dh has been brilliant and not pusht at all and has allowed me to "do things" when I am ready.
Like you I was concerned and I spoke to my doc who is brilliant. She told me it's normal following stitches and that it should get better. She told me if it didn't then in a few circumstances the stitiches can be redone (ouch ).
She did however prescribe me a HRT cream that will help to lubricate on a daily basis (sorry if tmi) and the cream only needs applying once a week. I haven't used the cream yet as it interferes with condoms and I don't really want to go on the mini pill...I'm seeing how it goes over the next few weeks/months and then I will try the cream..It may be worth speaking to your doc. Like others have suggested lots of foreplay does help although sometimes this is where it ends ..........
HTH

I had the same sort of delivery - ended up having surgery a year after to remove scar tissue, so no wonder 'it' was so effing sore! No amount of lubricating would have helped in my case.
It does get easier with time....I'd say don't force it, cos the more you do, the more you'll tense up and the sorer it will be. A vicious circle really.
