Breastfeeding and sex drive

I've been blaming breastfeeding for the fact that it feels that my libido has packed its bags and gone (everything else fine, relationship with DH great). Don't want to stop bf quite yet but sad at the effect on my sex life. Anyone else had this and can you reassure me that when I stop I will at some point feel horny again?

Yes absolutely, I had that. Mine came back as soon as I stopped feeding. Oh and periods came back too.

Thanks, that's good to hear.

I had this too with both my babies. Absolutely zero libido and no periods while bfing then gradually came back once I had stopped.

I bf for about 6 months with first baby then got into it so much with second that at 6 months I told my H I was going to try the WHO recommendation and keep feeding DS2 for 2 yrs. His face was a picture- sort of confused, horrified, resigned look! DS2 had a different plan anyway as he stopped himself at 10months so all got back to normal after that.

Just a hormonal thing I'm sure.

Im stil bf and DS is 17 months i had no problem wanting it but finding the time and energy to do it was. Things got back to normal when DS was about 14 months.

Sex and breastfeeding are two different things. Could there be other reasons for the low sex drive? lack of sleep, life change, change of self image? So meditation can also lower sex drive.

Please keep breastfeeding it realy is the best for your child.

Well done so far.
