the love interest in Wallace and Grommit a matter of loaf and death

The similarity is uncanny!
I watched it with my lo's yesterday on bbciplayer so it should be still available

Ha ha, yes now that you mention it, that's how I picture Vicky...

LauraIngallsWilder · 13/01/2010 09:05

Its as if the script writers for the archers watched it for inspiration

I agree, I think all the scriptwriters are on some kind of tranqs at the moment so they're probably channelling all sorts of inappropriate narratives.

I cant remember wallace's love interests name - but it might as well be vicky!

Ooooooooh I have known this man two minutes, I am going to absorb every moment of his time, redeocrate his house, clothes makeover, garden restyling and fill the house with twee teddies and chintz.

Even mike is starting to get a bit fed up of her now! Not before time

Now why did that post twice?

Hope she has some kind of hideous agricultural accident and is gone!

GrimmaTheNome · 13/01/2010 13:53

Vicky confuses me. One moment she's being totally thoughtless (trying to make Mikes trip a jaunt) and then turns round and does the right thing after all (sending him off with provisions and a kiss).

I think there are people more worthy of the hideous agricultural accident but they are probably all safe for a while because they won't kill anyone else off for a decent period around Phil.

MrsSantosloves2010 · 13/01/2010 13:59

They are going to kill Phil? please enlighten me

Yes, unfortunately they've got to kill Phil because the irreplaceable Mr Painting died in December. They are going to do it sometime this month, having had time to work out the storylines to give him an appropriately good send off.

R4 · 13/01/2010 23:47

Wallace's love interest was called Piella Bakewell and was played by Sally Lindsay

Vicky is played by Rachel Atkins who, according to her agent's webiste has "a wonderful soothing voice, rich, reliable and friendly".

Can I hijack to ask what's going to happen with Annette's abortion? I spotted the pregnancy storyline before it even happened, but what's the betting on Helen ending up "holding the baby" ?

Well, I can predict that as Helen told Brenda 'in confidence' but didn't specify 'and that includes not a word to Tom' it will be all round the village by the weekend.

I don't understand Helen at all; was at her speech to Brenda last night. But I'm feeling increasingly that the women on the Archers are much less rounded and badly written than the men. Or is it me?

dinster · 14/01/2010 14:47

Sorry - I mean that the women are worse written than the men. So many of them just seem caricatured.

choccyp1g · 14/01/2010 14:48

There is a bit of logic though, they had Helen going all gooey over baby Oscar, and being friendly to Williams partner's kids.

I thought that babysitting session had put Helen off kids for life!

I bet the storyline won't be that Helen tries raise Annettes baby strictly according to a gurus book (being a bit of a controlling type) and it all goes horribly pearshaped and the BBC gets sued....
