Presumably no extradition treaty with Costa Rica unlike Costa del Crime. Seems an odd choice as Costa Rica was always a neutral country with some rather socialist ideas - basic NHS type service etc. Not quite Matt's cup of tea (or coffee as it may have to be).
So, will he be on the plane home in tonight's episode or only Lil?

They knew he'd be going to jail for some sort of sentence. That's not too long. Come on Lillian - a few gins and it'll all look better I always find.

When Jennifer offered Lillian a brandy and she said no I almost spat my coffee out in shock.

She knew he would get a custodial sentence but thought he would be banged up for years, so am not sure why she responded in the way she did. Must have been jet lag.

They were all expecting Chalkman to plead not-guilty. If he had then this court appearance would've been followed by a full trial for days/weeks before a verdict, and then there'd likely have been pre-sentencing report etc etc.

Lillian simply wasn't expecting for the trial to be done with that fast and for Matt to have been sentenced and sent down all in one go. She thought he would still be free for ages before he got imprisoned.
