She is definitely gold digging isn't she?
I am listening to the omnibus, I wish I had said to DH before we got married, "how can I be a PROPER wife to you when I am at work 4 days a week?"

OP posts:
MagNacarta · 16/07/2009 10:40

I know and she's making him buy all new stuff for the house including a breakfast set (wtf is a breakfast set).

Betty will be turning in her grave.

I'm really enjoying the storyline though, much better than Lillian and Matt which is getting a bit boring now.

seeker · 16/07/2009 10:42

But has he got all that much gold to dig? Maybe the cunning plot twist is that it is true love after all?

Yurtgirl · 16/07/2009 11:44

Oooh she is irritating!

I agree wtf is a breakfast set?

She is way too enthusiastic to be genuine surely

ugh at the teddies collection

OliviaMumsnet · 16/07/2009 11:51

Could be worse - could be this kind of teddy this is what I reckon she'll be wearing in the isle of wight

OP posts:
traceybath · 16/07/2009 11:53

I like her purely because whe annoys Brenda so much and i can't stand her

Yurtgirl · 16/07/2009 12:02

Olivia - that picture looks how I imagine Vicki to look - the facial expression on the model I mean

Scary

surprise openings

Get back to work woman you are polluting my mind

littlelamb · 16/07/2009 12:03

O my eyes

  • Underwire demi-cup teddy
  • Revealing openings for big surprises
  • High-cut leg openings
  • Convenient snap crotch
fishie · 16/07/2009 12:06

dearie me. not what i expected on an archers thread.

i am enjoying the lizzie / linda unholy alliance. scriptwriters have gone mad they usually hate each other.

littlelamb · 16/07/2009 12:08

And however did you stumble across that website Olivia, hmm?

Yurtgirl · 16/07/2009 12:12

That was my thought littlelamb

NigellaTufnel · 16/07/2009 12:43

Is the wedding tonight? I missed it last night.

I reckon that Mike will be out of his new home by Christmas, with Vicki taking him for all he's got.

Actually, how long do you have to be married before you get half of all your partner's loot?

Maybe she'll do a runner...

MagNacarta · 17/07/2009 08:49

I suspect there's someone else in the background, a sick relative, old flame something like that. Won't be revealed for a little while and then she'll take him to the cleaners.

Poor Brenda, I don't mind her and Vicky is clearly very embarrassing.

retiredgoth2 · 17/07/2009 09:22

Firstly; is her name spelt 'Vicky', 'Vicki', or, heaven forbid, 'Vikki'.

....I consulted the Oracle (or the character list on the Archers website, anyway) and she has yet to be promoted to this hallowed hall of fame.

...the irritation she occasions to Brenderr is most welcome. However, the sound of Tom (my least favoured character) being all liberal and conciliatory makes me feel all queasy...

Not as queasy as the thought of Vicki trussed up in the linked-to lingerie, though.

Is she materialistic? Of course. Acquisitive? Possibly. Vulgar? As sure as is Papal catholicism.

(I mean.... glittery cleavage? Lordy. I also have little doubt that there is a cute character, possibly 'Hollie Hobbie' in nature, attached by suction cups to the rear window of her pristine Kia hatchback)

However, I venture that she is, at heart, OK. I envisage a story line, a year or two hence, in which previously hidden generosity is clunkily revealed....

MagNacarta · 17/07/2009 09:26

retiredgoth - I do love your posts.

However I feel sure you are wrong, there'll be somthing up - she's not going to go all Clary Grundie.

Perhaps an affair with Brian, afterall most youngish women in the village have and he has already remarked that she's attractive.

traceybath · 17/07/2009 09:28

The thing is she started off ok and then the archers criptwriters did that thing that they often do where they totally change a character overnight.

retiredgoth2 · 17/07/2009 09:37

....if an affair is in the offing, MagNacarta, might I suggest Prof Jim as a likely beau.

After all, he seems to be minted, and displays a liking for, er, rustic charm. Ahem.

...I imagine them eloping (to a Classics convention in a Blackpool bingo hall, perhaps) in Jim's vintage Triumph Herald, a faint hint of glitter visible in their swirling trail....

Snorbs · 17/07/2009 09:46

Ah, so you reckon she could be the replacement "Tart with a heart" now that Jolene's all settled down and house-wifey? I could see that.

I would rather hope that they've got something a bit more exciting lined up for her, though. Say, Mike discovering that she's a bigamist and she's already married to five other men, two women and a marmoset named Trevor. Or she's a male-to-female transexual or something.

By the way, I'd bet money that she spells it Vicqui. Written with little hearts over the 'i's.

CoffeeCrazedMama · 17/07/2009 10:32

Ooh, Snorbs, I like the bigamy angle. I am still in shock that some un-divorced, secret husband didn't crash the wedding, Mr Rochester's-brother-in-law-like, and stop it all. I'd felt sure the scriptwriters weren't really going to condemn Mike to a legal entanglement with this ghastly woman.

lol at idea of affair with Jim - though agree, Retiredgoth, he does seem to have plently of money. As dh bitterly commented (he always tries to pretend he's not listening but then asks questions while I'm listening, most annoying) when he realised Jim was a retired academic - 'no wonder, he's probs on a full final salary academic pension!'

TsarChasm · 17/07/2009 10:55

I'm sorry to lower the tone on a Radio4 thread, but just as an aside - my TV guide/what's on (Daily Mail - sorry) writes a little Archers update, which keeps referring to Mike as The One-Eyed Milkman...That's er..a bit y'know, rude isn't it??!

I didn't know he only had one eye. Why am I even bothered? I don't even know him!

retiredgoth2 · 17/07/2009 11:42

I sincerely hope that the term 'One Eyed Milkman' is not a smutty innuendo....

TsarChasm · 17/07/2009 12:02

Er...weeeell..

MagNacarta · 18/07/2009 11:46

one eyed milkman .

Affair with Jim is good but too obvious. What about Burt Fry, perhaps Freida will finally emerge to fight it out with Viqui?

R4 · 18/07/2009 21:58

Re the spelling of her name: it is probably Vici.

As in veni vidi vici.

boom boom

bea · 01/08/2009 08:19

however i am getting fed up with whinging brenda... it's just getting boring listening to her moaning! she's becoming obsessed now!!!! heaven knows she's miserable now!!!
