Have just heard the repeat of today's Book of the Week and heard how the author took the same 32-mile round trip as the starving Louisburgh famine walkers in County Mayo where my mum comes from. I've been brought up with tales of the famine but details like this really bring it home to you. Great idea for a book. Will try to listen to the rest of the episodes on Iplayer before they disappear - wonder if it can be podcasted?
