He's absolutely the highlight of my day too. I am at work all week so I don't get to listen to it live, but I hunt his show down on Youtube.

I wish they recorded them all so we could listen to all of them - like with Iplayer.

Ah, when did wanting everyone to have a piece of the pie become so rare, and so contemptible as it is today? James is a lone voice of reason trying to talk people into being kinder and fairer to each other - and you can feel his frustration as the world grows ever more selfish and right wing.

I share his frustration. I miss facts. And kindness. Replacing those two things with Trump and Farage is a very poor swap.

Listen to LBC every day. Steve Allen right now, then Nick Ferrari and days off Mr O'Brien.

Listen to a bit of Farage and Hopkins if I get the chance too. It's a brilliant station.

Megatherium · 27/01/2017 07:21

I gave up on it when they employed Hopkins, and even before that I gave up on Ferrari because there is only so much prejudiced stupidity that I can take.

Sedgewick · 27/01/2017 21:27

I avoid Hopkins and Farage like the plague! Give me James O'Brien over those glib, bigots! I hate simplistic slogans and minority blaming. So tedious, not least because they never bother with facts, just assertions.

O'Brien is the voice of sanity. Like listening to a friend who you don't always agree with, but would defend against anyone who attacked them.

He's brilliant.

I switch it off every time Hopkins comes on - cannot bear to listen to her.

Big fan of JOB - he talks so much sense and is funny too.

Ferrari has become even more or a twat. The other day he was saying how a woman wearing a short skirt is like if he wore 3 expensive watches. He should be able to but there are criminals around and it's asking for trouble.
Thankfully JOB came on afterwards and restored my faith in humanity!

I really like JOB. Work has blocked radio so I don't listen often anymore. I used to like Shelagh on weekdays well, but cannot listen anymore.

I am really going off LBC over the weekends. Weekend crew do my head in. Quite ranty and sounded inexperienced.

There was a time when Ken and Dave were the best thing on the radio on a Saturday. Sadly no more.

I've found my people. I can't believe it.

Just think he's fabulous. I have an intellectual crush on him. My Dh thinks he's worth listening to too. He causes you to rethink your thought processes. I've certainly gained insight since listening to him on a regular basis.

Sedgewick · 11/02/2017 21:05

James O'Brien is my weird crush too! He's just too intelligent to not be attractive. A, and I love that he really cares about what's happening to the world. It's not just a job for him.
