Not Guilty - the Craig McLachlan case podcast

Is anyone listening to this new podcast? It launched yesterday.
It's the story of former Neighbours actor, Craig McLachlan (Henry to those of us old enough to remember), who was accused of sexual harassment and abuse by three women who worked on a theatre tour with him. He was charged and ultimately and acquitted.
The podcast is being voiced by his long term partner who believes there has been a witch hunt against him by the three women and the ABC tv channel who cancelled a series he starred in before the allegations came to light. I'm finding it extremely uncomfortable to listen to. The idea that three separate people would invent accusations and the police would follow through on that purely because an Australian victim of MeToo was needed by the media is crazy. I'd be very interested to know what other people think.

I only know him from The (Doctor) Blake Mysteries (which was on the BBC until he got arrested). Considering that show hasn't returned and according to iMDb he hasn't worked since, I'd suspect he has a wider bad reputation.

Haven't listened to the podcast but a bit odd to have it presented by a current partner, are there any more factual voices? He was very litigious so that would explain the lack of other sources/debate. Does the podcast include the fourth woman with an allegation from the 1990s, Jeanne Downs?

There has only been one episode so far and it has only mentioned three women who toured with him. No other interviewees or contributors appeared.
It has a very odd script - like Craig McLachlan has written it himself and believes the world is out to get him.

I've been following the case closely since ot all kicked off on 2018 and to be honest some of the things that have come out about the main accuser do not make her a credible witness in my eyes. I mean, who goes around showing cast members photos of their own faeces? That's depraved, surely?
She portrays herself to be an "innocent" party but her past behaviour suggests otherwise.

It’s interesting that although he was found not guilty that the magistrate believed his accusers to be “brave and honest” and under the current law the outcome may have been very different.

“Magistrate Wallington stressed she had to apply the law at the time of the alleged offences.

She said the old law was “rightly criticised for rewarding a sex offender for their self absorption” who is only able to see his own desires and “interprets a woman’s reactions as invariably congruent with his own”.
“Were the current law applicable, it is possible that the result may be different,” she said.

The magistrate also described the four women as “brave and honest witnesses”.
She was unconvinced that — as suggested at trial — they came forward with the aim of furthering their careers.”

Listening to the podcast, I flip between feeling sorry for his partner and thinking she is delusional

@Cowboysnangels I feel really sorry for her as she's been unwell for quite some time since it all happened; she has lost a lot of weight and hair with stress.
Craig also lost his mum recently after caring for her at home and has health battles of his own (both physical and mental).
Ultimately Magistrate Wallington found him Not Guilty of all charges. From a legal pov it was not her place to ad addendum.
The ABC's 7.30 programme has also since been shown to have been heavily edited with the main accusers coached in terms of what to say which is clearly unacceptable.

I remember Henry!
Will give it a listen.
