Is anyone else enjoying this on BBC Sounds? It’s unabridged, so loads of episodes. I’m loving it!

No, but I might now you have mentioned it.

Hope you like it. Julie Andrews is 90 and struggled with her voice after throat surgery some years ago, so she has done really well with this reading. I think her voice suits the text.

I loved this. Julie Andrews and P&P, literally two of my favourite things!

I see what you did there! Totally agree, what’s not to like? I’m nearly at the end and wishing it could go on.

Thanks for the post I've just downloaded it.

It’s been available for a while and I started listening several weeks ago. I’m going to be an outlier here but I really did not like her narration. I found it rather dull and pedestrian. It was way below the standard of what I’m used to and I had to stop listening.

I admire Julie Andrews hugely, so this was a great disappointment and surprise.

I absolutely loved this and binged the whole lot! Can't wait to see which book will be next. It did take a good ten minutes to get used to Julie Andrews' voice but then I couldn't imagine anyone else doing it!
Hugh Bonneville reading Sherlock Holmes is equally fantastic and from the same team 🥰

I loved this- I made a real effort to listen every week and it was absolutely worth it. Of course it helps that I was reliving my youth (as a fan of the BBC TV version), but her voice is also gorgeously warm, the original music was perfect, and it was all just so well done. Thoroughly recommend!

I really liked the music and the background effects as well.

I get what a PP is saying - JA's voice doesn't have the same quality now but because I love her and P&P I went with it and really enjoyed it.

Hope she does Emma next or persuasion!

Thanks for the Sherlock Holmes tip. There’s lots of those to look forward to.

Yes, I agree, the background noise was very subtle but really added to it 🥰
